Over 50 years of experience as a civil trial lawyer and arbitrator specializing in construction, government contract, construction defect, healthcare and real estate law. He serves on the commercial, construction and healthcare panels of the American Arbitration Association, having been a panelist since 1968. He is also a certified arbitrator for the California Public Works Contract Arbitration Program, and holds an "AV" rating by Martindale Hubbell. He is an Adjunct Professor at Dominican University of California, teaching Conflict Resolution and Mediation since 2007.

Arbitrated and mediated over 400 commercial, construction, real estate and healthcare matters. Commercial matters include debtor/creditor disputes and commercial transactions. Construction matters have included scope of work questions, change orders, contract interpretation, default and convience terminations, differing site conditions, claims seeking delay damages and acceleration costs, claims for extended overhead and toxic tort/environmental claims. Real estate cases include lease disputes, lease interpretation and construction, and damages in condemnation cases. Healthcare cases have included disputes between providers and health plans, scope of care questions, provider/payor reimbursement, credentialing/peer review, and healthcare transactions. Have served on a number of three arbitrator panels, including, renovation of historic high school facility (Chair), dispute regarding high rise hotel conversion (Chair), lease dispute between public hospital district and non-profit operating hospital, construction of multiple live work units, dispute over Huricane Katrina clean up contract and its performance, and construction defect dispute (108 discrete issues and claims) in single-family remodel.
